Stolen Dodge Being Towed Leads To Officer Being Shot & Suspect
On November 1st, around 6:20AM, Oak Forest Police responded to the 4300 block of Frontage Road for a call of a disturbance involving a Dodge Charger.
While on scene Oak Forest Officers discovered an unoccupied stolen Dodge Charger in a parking lot. Officers dispatched a tow truck for the stolen car and while on scene a subject approached, then attempted to get into the Dodge. During the interaction with Police the subject fired several rounds and struck an Oak Forest Police Officer. In response to the use of deadly force the officer returned fire hitting the subject. Both the subject and officer were taken to area hospitals for treatment.
The investigation is being handled by the Illinois State Police & Oak Forest Police Department.
