Theft From Vehicles Leads St. John Police On Pursuit Friday

Early this morning at about 3:50 am, St. John Police were dispatched to the 13100 Block of Snowberry Lane to investigate attempted theft from a vehicle, according to Roger Patz of The St. John Police Department. A resident who was up early saw two unknown persons attempting to enter his vehicles. When the suspects noticed the resident, they fled the area in a red newer model Dodge Charger, Patz stated. Officers began checking the area for the vehicle which was spotted on 93rdAve. travelling west bound towards Sheffield. St. John Police attempted to stop the vehicle which refused to stop and a pursuit was initiated. The suspect vehicle travelled north on Sheffield and then west on US 30 and then north on 394, Patz told RNS. Officers pursued the vehicle into south Chicago where officers lost sight of the suspect vehicle.  At this time, one victim of theft from vehicle has been reported.

St. John Police would like to remind our residents to always lock vehicles when they are unattended. Never leave anything of value in sight. Make sure to lock up homes and garages before turning in for the night, and as always call 911 to report any suspicious activity.
