Trooper Injured After Chase Starting In Munster
An Indiana State Trooper out of Lowell was injured after joining a pursuit that originated in Munster early Tuesday morning.
According to sources Munster Police were checking on a suspicious vehicle near Manor & Broadmoor around 12:30am when the suspect vehicle fled from officers. The chase ended near Cline & Airport Rd on the border of East Chicago with an ISP trooper firing at suspects after possibly being struck / crushed between the vehicles. The Trooper was transported to an area hospital along with a suspect hit by gunfire but their injuries are unclear at this time. We understand the car was occupied by four individuals.
Indiana State Police & Munster Police were not immediately available for comment but planned to update us early this morning as this scene is still active as 3:45am.
