Valpo Officer Arrests NY Man With Over 70 Lbs Of Marijuana
Subject Arrested with Large Quantity of Marijuana
On February 17, 2020 at approximately 2:30 p.m., A Valparaiso Police Officer assigned to the Porter County Highway Interdiction Team, initiated a traffic stop along the Indiana State Toll Road for multiple infractions. During the investigation, the driver of the vehicle admitted to having a “personal use” amount of marijuana with him in the vehicle. The officer further noted several indicators of marijuana possession or consumption within the vehicle. As the officer prepared to recover the illegal material, and conduct a legal search of the vehicle, the driver admitted to having large quantities of marijuana contained in luggage in the rear vehicle compartment. A search of the vehicle resulted in the recovery of over 70 pounds of marijuana, with an estimated street value of over $200,000. The driver of the vehicle further admitted ownership of the marijuana and was identified as Marcus Allen Molina, 26, of Liberty, NY.
Molina was arrested on charges of Dealing Marijuana and Possession of Marijuana. He was transported to the Porter County Jail where he will be held on his charges.
