Victim Shot A Few Hours Later At Homicide Location In EC After Police Left
On September 28, 2020 at approximately 11:01 p.m. officers were dispatched to 4818 Alexander Avenue in reference to a shooting, according to Deputy Chief Jose Rivera. This is the same location as the homicide and two other gun shot victims hours before this incident.
Officers arrived on scene and made contact with 25 year old victim who resides at 4818 Alexander Avenue and the reporting female who was the victim of the earlier shooting at the same location, who was released from the hospital after being shot in the leg. The victim stated shortly after the police left the crime scene from the first shooting he went outside to take out the garbage. While outside he heard several shots fired nearby. He then stated that he realized he was shot in the face and he ran inside his residence to tell the female who was shot hours earlier to call 911, Rivera said. The victim suffered a gunshot wound to the left side of his jaw. He was transported to St. Catherine Hospital for treatment and was later transported to the University of Chicago Hospital for surgery. Police believe both shootings might be related.
