19 Year Old Fatally Shot In Merrillville Shooting
UPDATE- The Merrillville Police Department took a juvenile into custody yesterday (Friday) without incident in reference to this homicide that occurred on Aug 24, 2022. The juvenile has been charged with one count of Murder. On Wednesday, August 24, 2022 at approximately 7:31 PM, Merrillville Police Officers were dispatched to the area of the 5600 block of Pennsylvania St. in reference to a 19-year-old male subject who had been shot, according to Merrillville Police.
Upon arrival, responding officers rendered aid to the victim who was later transported by ambulance to Methodist Hospital Southlake for medical care, however the male subject succumbed to his wounds, police told RNS. The Lake County Coroner has not released the victims name as of Wednesday night.
