19 Year Old Valpo Man Being Held On Shooting Charges
The Valparaiso Police continue to investigate the shooting of two subjects in the 600 block of Glendale Blvd. that occurred at approximately 7:15 a.m. Wednesday. Both victims were flown to area trauma centers as a result of the sustained injuries. The male subject was transported to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, IL. It has been learned that his condition is stable, but critical. The female was transported to the University of Chicago Hospital in Chicago, IL and is in stable condition.
The suspect, who was located on scene when police arrived, has been identified as Joseph Scott, 19, of Valparaiso. Scott has been incarcerated on a battery, causing serious bodily injury with the use of deadly weapon, charge, according to Valparaiso Police. Scott is being held at the Porter County Sheriff’s Department on the felony. Additional charges may be forthcoming pending the ongoing investigation.
