Cristian Galindo, 24, of Valparaiso, is facing multiple felony charges after police said he entered an apartment armed with an AR-style rifle and threatened several people inside during a domestic-related incident Tuesday night.

Valparaiso Police responded May 19 to an apartment in the 3000 block of Glen Eagles Boulevard after receiving reports of a man inside the residence with an AK-style rifle and an audible disturbance occurring inside the apartment.

According to court documents, officers arriving at the scene were told a man was holding multiple people at gunpoint inside the apartment. Police said officers approached the residence and observed the barrel of an AR-style rifle near the doorway along with several occupants inside the apartment with their hands raised.

Investigators stated officers ordered the suspect to drop the weapon, and the man complied before being taken into custody. Police reported recovering a loaded AR-15 style rifle with a round chambered and the weapon set to fire mode.

According to the probable cause affidavit, Galindo later admitted he drove to the apartment after retrieving an AR pistol and latex gloves from his residence. Police said Galindo told investigators he intended to “scare” his ex-girlfriend.

Court documents state several people inside the apartment told police Galindo forced his way inside after they attempted to shut the door. Witnesses alleged Galindo pointed the firearm at multiple occupants and repeatedly threatened to shoot everyone inside the apartment.

Police said one witness reported Galindo stated, “I’ll f***ing shoot everyone here,” while another told investigators Galindo threatened to kill his ex-girlfriend and her friends.

According to the affidavit, Galindo also allegedly ordered occupants to place their phones on a table while he continued threatening those inside the apartment.
