24 Hour Day Care Hit By Gunfire In Gary
Around 7PM Gary Police responded to a shots fired call at Building With Care 24 Hour Daycare located at 2545 Harrison St in Gary.
On arrival police found the front door and the siding to the business had numerous bullet holes were officers were looking. Commander Jack Hamady of the Gary Police said two holes were located in the door to the business. There were no injuries to the occupied business police said. Numerous parents were seen picking up toddlers as police put up crime scene tape. One parent told RNS the kids were watching tv in the front room and it’s a miracle none of them were hit. A resident in the area heard around a dozen or more shots but didn’t see a vehicle. This is not the first time the resident stated shots were fired in the immediate area. As of 8pm police were still on scene investigating.
