4 Year Old Accidentally Shoots Herself
On August 11, 2020 approximately 5:55 AM The Gary Police Department responded to Methodist Hospital Northlake in regards to a juvenile gunshot victim, according to Lt. Dawn Westerfield.
Upon investigation it was discovered the incident occurred in the 700 block of Burr Street around 5:00 AM. It is believed the 4-year-old female discharged an unattended weapon in the home, striking herself in the foot, police stated. At this time the incident is being investigated as accidental, Westerfield stated.
