LANSING — A pedestrian was struck and killed early Wednesday morning on Interstate 80 in Lansing, according to the Illinois State Police.
Troopers from ISP Troop 3 responded to the westbound lanes of I-80 near Torrence Avenue at approximately 5:28 a.m. for a report of a pedestrian being struck by a vehicle.

Preliminary information indicates the victim was attempting to change a tire on their vehicle along the interstate when they were hit. The pedestrian was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Two westbound lanes remain closed as authorities investigate the crash. Illinois State Police said the investigation is in its early stages and no additional information is available at this time.
