Robert C. Papka Jr., 71, of Portage, has been charged with public nudity after police say he stood completely naked in the doorway of his residence and waved at people outside.

According to court documents, the incident occurred around 6:17 p.m. on August 14. A woman told police she was walking toward a vehicle with friends when her friends pointed toward a nearby doorway and told her a man was naked and waving at them.

The woman then looked toward the residence and allegedly saw Papka standing completely naked in the doorway and waving at her. Court documents state the main door was completely open and Papka was standing behind only a glass storm door. Police noted the front of the residence was separated from the roadway by a sidewalk and a small front lawn measuring less than 20 feet across. 

When police arrived, they allegedly found Papka completely naked inside his living room. The affidavit states Papka appeared “very intoxicated” and was surrounded by liquor bottles.
