Allen Michael Boheman, 33, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, is facing charges after police say a traffic stop on Interstate 94 led to the discovery of a large quantity of marijuana and THC products.

According to court documents, on April 17, 2026, at approximately 9:59 a.m., an Indiana State Police trooper was traveling westbound on I-94 near the 29-mile marker when he observed a silver 2025 Jeep Compass make an abrupt lane change and begin following a semi dangerously close by approximately one car length. A traffic stop was initiated near the 28.4-mile marker in Chesterton.

The trooper approached the vehicle and made contact with the sole male driver, identified as Boheman. The trooper reported immediately smelling the odor of raw marijuana coming from inside the vehicle and observed a large blanket covering cargo in the rear.

During the investigation, Boheman told the trooper he had been on vacation in Orlando, but later stated he was coming from the Upper Peninsula of Michigan and had stayed one night at a friend’s house. A search of license plate reader data showed the vehicle’s travel did not match Boheman’s statements, and the trooper believed he was transporting a large amount of marijuana.

Police searched the vehicle and located numerous black trash bags in the rear cargo area. The trooper reported that upon handling one of the bags, he immediately knew the vehicle contained a large amount of suspected marijuana. Boheman was taken into custody at the scene.

According to court documents, police recovered 8 knotted plastic bags containing a plant-like substance, approximately 8 pounds of suspected raw marijuana, and a large quantity of THC products. Items seized included JGOO gas hunter brand THC vape pens labeled to contain 2 grams each, 93 Supberb brand THC vape pens labeled to contain 0.5 gram each, 72 Big Ripper brand THC vape pens labeled to contain 2 grams each, 50 Mitten Extracts THC vape pens labeled to contain 2 grams each, and 39 Apex brand THC vape pens labeled to contain 0.5 gram each. Officers also recovered 96 THC wax jars labeled to contain 5 grams each, 27 THC wax jars labeled to contain 1 gram each, 30 cans of marijuana infused soda labeled to contain 12 ounces each, and one THC gummy pack labeled to contain 28 grams.

In total, police reported seizing approximately 8 pounds of suspected raw marijuana, 854 THC vape pens, 123 THC wax jars, 30 twelve-ounce cans of THC soda, and one THC gummy pack. The unofficial total weight of raw marijuana and THC oil and wax was listed as approximately 12.5 pounds.

Boheman was transported to the Porter County Jail and refused to answer questions without an attorney after being advised of his Miranda rights.
