Fatal Single Vehicle Crash On 80/94 Snarls Traffic
Illinois State Troopers responded to a single vehicle rollover crash around 1:30pm Saturday, according to State Police. The vehicle was traveling eastbound, when the driver, for unknown reasons, lost control of the vehicle and struck a light pole before overturning. The 2011 Hyundai Sonata then caught on fire, police told RNS. Two people were killed in this accident according to The Cook County Medical Examiner. Police had no information on other injuries or occupants at this time.
At approximately 2:15 p.m., the right lane on Interstate 80 eastbound and the ramp to Torrence Avenue eastbound are closed for the traffic investigation, Police said. Please use caution when passing and slow down.
