Crown Point Man Killed In Motorcycle Crash On 41
Schererville Police were dispatched to US 41 at Moraine Trace at approximately 10:53 PM for a crash involving a motorcycle, according to Deputy Chief Jeff Cook of the Schererville Police. Preliminary investigation along with witness statements indicate a motorcycle was observed at a high rate of speed while traveling southbound on US 41 from US 30. As the motorcycle approached Moraine Trace, it traveled into the left turn lane where a vehicle was stopped in traffic, Cook stated. The motorcycle went between the vehicle and raised concrete median striking both, the driver of the motorcycle was thrown from the motorcycle to the ground into the left through lane of northbound US 41 where the driver was run over by a vehicle traveling northbound on US 41. The driver of the motorcycle, a 24 year old male from Crown Point was pronounced dead at the scene by the Lake County Coroner. The Coroner has not made notifications yet and we will be waiting to name the deceased.

UPDATE – The Lake County Coroner has identified the deceased as Samuel Brown, 24, of Crown Point.
