Bicycle Rider Struck & Killed By Tow Truck
On July 4, 2020 approximately 8:48 PM the Gary Police Department responded to the area of I80/94 and Burr Street for a crash involving a tow truck versus a man on a bicycle, according to Lt. Dawn Westerfield of the Gary Police. The male bicyclist was declared deceased on scene by the Lake County Coroner Office. The name of the victim is pending notification of the family. The investigation is in its preliminary stages at this point still and updates will be added to this article.

Update – The Lake County Coroner has identified the victim as Christopher Boswinkle, 49, of Gary.
