Cedar Lake Firefighters Battle House Fire In Frigid Conditions

Around 5:45 PM, Saturday, Cedar Lake Fire Department responded to the 9400 block of W. 125th Ct. for a residential structure
fire. Initial reports had fire coming through the chimney and roof.

Crews immediately requested mutual aid and went to a working still alarm. Crews battled the fire for around 2 hours with wind chills below zero that hindered efforts. There were no injuries reported.

Cedar Lake Fire Department thanked mutual aid partners for their assistance at the scene and for providing station coverage. Mutual Aid Departments responding included Lowell, Tri-Creek Ambulance Service, St. John Fire Department, Lake Dalecarlia Fire Department, Beecher Fire Protection District, and Lake Hills Fire Department.
