Elderly Man Found Dead In Hobart After Apparent Home Break In

Around 3:30 PM Thursday, Hobart Police were dispatched to a home that was ransacked with a male that was found unresponsive inside on the 3600 block of W. 61st, according to Captain James Gonzales.

A female resident came home to find her home was ransacked and her husband was bleeding on the floor. The female called the Hobart Police & Fire who responded and quickly cleared the home and began a K9 track of the area for possible suspects. The male victim was pronounced deceased. The search of the area did not turn up any results and officers began to canvass the area for video surveillance.

The deceased male found inside was only identified as a 75 year old Hobart resident at this time, Gonzales said. Foul play is suspected at this time.

UPDATE – The Lake County Coroner has identified the victim as William T Enslen, 75, of Hobart. Cause of death is still pending at this time.
