Extra Alarm Fire At Gary Vehicle Lot
On November 16, 2020 approximately 4:57 AM the Gary Fire Department was dispatched to the 3600 block of West 4th Avenue for a fire in a vehicle lot, according to Lt. Dawn Westerfield of the Gary Police. The business belonging to S & S Towing had around 50-76 cars on fire around 6am. The Gary Police Department responded to assist with traffic control. It is an extra alarm fire and there are no details available as to the origin of the fire at this time, Westerfield said. Police are requesting community members to avoid the area as fire personnel continue to battle the fire scene.
