Gary Man Still Missing From Portage – Update
UPDATE TO MISSING ENDANGERED PERSON
Portage Police Department detectives have continued the search for Joseph W. Thomas but as of 1:00pm Monday January 27th, 2020 he has not been located. Despite continued searching on foot as well as using an aerial drone we have met with negative results. At this time we are asking that anyone who resides west of Willowcreek Road between Central Avenue and US Hwy 20 please check in and around any structures you have where a person in distress might seek shelter. These could include detached garages, sheds, campers, boats, or even under decks. If you have video surveillance of the exterior of your home we are asking that you review that footage between 5:30pm and 9:00pm on Saturday January 25th, 2020. If you believe you have captured footage of Mr. Thomas and are willing to share that with us please call the Portage Police Department at 219-762-3122 and ask for Detective D. Czilli.
Joseph W. Thomas is a black male, eighty-two years of age. He stands 5’8” tall and weighs approximately 190 pounds. He has brown eyes, black hair and was last seen wearing a dark colored jacket and possibly a knit stocking cap.
