Merrillville Man Arrested After Semi Pursuit
On September 16, 2022, just before 9:30 AM, Indiana State Trooper Thomen and Probationary Trooper Smith were patrolling US 231 near County Road 600 North when Trooper Thomen and Probationary Trooper Smith attempted to stop a 2015 Kenworth being driven by Dimitri Robinson, 43, from Merrillville, IN, for a traffic violation. Robinson failed to stop, and troopers initiated a pursuit northbound on US 231.
The pursuit continued northbound to the intersection of US 231 and State Road 18, where the Kenworth came to a stop. Robinson was safely taken into custody and transported to Tippecanoe County Jail.

1. Resisting Law Enforcement with a Vehicle – Level 6 Felony
Trooper Thomen and Probationary Trooper Smith were assisted on scene by Indiana State Police Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Division, White County Sheriff’s Department, and Farney’s Towing.
