Merrillville School Was On Lockdown For A Bomb Threat

Merrillville Community School Corporation administrators were alerted to a bomb threat around noon, Tuesday at Pierce Middle School, according to Merrillville School Administration. ”Safety protocols were quickly followed and staff and students safely exited the building with no issues.”

Merrillville Police arrived on the scene along with Porter County Bomb Swuad and checked the building thoroughly. Merrillville Police released a statement saying, ”The threat was extremely low but we are investigating.”

Since it took some time to conduct a full investigation and due to the time of day, students were transported to the high school, where parents picked them up.
