One Arrested In Crown Point After SWAT Call Out
On August 23, 2020 at approximately 12:28am, Crown Point Police responded to the 300 block of W. 128th Pl., in reference to a physical domestic disturbance between husband and wife, according to Crown Point Police Assistant Chief Jim Janda. The victim related to dispatch that her husband had attacked her and then locked himself and their 2 year old son in a bathroom. She further advised that there were weapons inside the residence and she was unsure if her husband had a weapon with him, Janda said in a release Monday.
Upon officers arrival, the female victim relayed the same information to officers on scene who attempted numerous times to make contact with the suspect. Upon receiving no answer from the suspect, the Northwest Regional Swat Team was activated to assist with the situation, Janda stated.
A Negotiator was able to speak with the male subject, identified as Jason E. Lomeli, and the situation was resolved without incident. The 2 year old child was not harmed and there were no firearms involved in the incident.
Jason E. Lomeli, 39, was arrested for Domestic Battery, Domestic Battery Resulting in Moderate Bodily Injury and Criminal Confinement, all charges are a level 6 Felony. As well as Interference with Reporting of a Crime, a misdemeanor.
