Parking Garage Fire At Munster Condos

Around 8:30 PM, Sunday, Munster Fire Department was dispatched to a fire alarm at 8445 Manor Ave at the Renaissance Condominiums.

Shortly after the fire alarm was dispatched it was upgraded to a working structure fire and then a Box Alarm. The Box Alarm is for multiple mutual aid departments to respond due to the size of the structure and occupants.

On arrival crews encountered smoke coming from the underground parking garage and after further inspection determined two vehicles were on fire in the underground garage.

Firefighters were able to contain the fire to the parking garage but ventilation to the building was required for the smoke. No reported structure damage to the building. There were no reported injuries.

Mutual Aid crews responding to this fire included Lansing, Lynwood, Dyer, Highland, Griffith, Schererville, and Superior Ambulance.
