Police Are Searching For A Driver From A Hit & Run In Hammond

On January 15th, at approximately 1:36 p.m., Hammond police were dispatched to the 6800 block of Kennedy Ave. in reference to a hit and run accident, according to Lt. Steve Kellogg of The Hammond Police.

Officers arrived and learned that a vehicle had struck a pedestrian in the roadway. The pedestrian was transported to the University of Chicago Hospital for his injuries, Kellogg stated. His condition is unknown at this time. The fleeing vehicle was last seen heading north on Kennedy Ave. and was described as a black or dark colored SUV with front end damage, driven by a white male with dark hair.

If anyone observed this accident, or has information about the fleeing vehicle, they are asked to call 911 immediately.
