Schererville School Lockdown All Clear
Southcom Dispatch Center received a 911 call from a cell phone that pinged near the school utilizing cell towers, according to Schereville Police. There were a few people listed in the system with this number and one subject was wanted for questioning by an outside agency for a felony. Police were unable to determine where the subject was or if it was the actual subject the other agency was looking for, police said.
Officers checked the area but the phone was pinging all over town after the lockdown was issued. The school was checked, and no issues were located inside or out. Officers stayed in the area but were unable to locate the phone or subject dialing 911 and cleared the incident with no issues. The school is no longer under a lockdown at this time.
