Three Vehicle Crash Involving Munster Fire Truck
A three vehicle accident occurred on the 7900 block of Calumet Ave in Munster shortly before 7:30pm Saturday night.
A Munster Fire Engine was responding to a medical emergency at the Munster Med Inn with full lights and sirens when a vehicle struck the engine at the intersection in front of Burger King pushing that car into another vehicle exiting the Staples parking lot. Munster Assistant Fire Chief David Strbjak told RNS there was no injuries from the collision.
The Munster Engine sustained significant damage to the front bumper of the rig that pushed into the drivers side door of a Mercedes.
Munster Police stated the accident is still under investigation but no citations were issued. Check back for updates.
