EAST CHICAGO, IN — The owner of Fuerte Meat Market, located at 1820 Broadway in East Chicago, has been arrested following an alleged sexual assault reported at the business Saturday morning.

According to information obtained by Region News Source, a female employee accused the owner of sexually assaulting her inside the store. Following the report, detectives with the East Chicago Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Division launched an investigation into the allegations.

As part of the ongoing case, investigators executed a state search warrant at the business to collect evidence related to the alleged incident.
