Booker Tee Pierce III, 33, of Portage, is accused of failing to report a change in his residence to authorities as required by Indiana’s sex offender registry.

According to court documents, on June 12, the Porter County Sheriff’s Office was contacted by a woman who requested that her address be removed from the Sex and Violent Offender Registry because Pierce was no longer living there. Investigators were told Pierce had moved out June 8 and was believed to be staying at an unknown address in Chicago.

Court documents state Pierce is classified as a sex offender with a lifetime registration requirement stemming from an August 2010 Cook County, Illinois, conviction for Criminal Sexual Assault/Force. According to the affidavit, the listed victim was his then-15-year-old girlfriend.

The affidavit states authorities had dealt with a similar registration issue involving Pierce in May. At that time, Pierce had allegedly been away from his registered residence for approximately two weeks without notifying the Sheriff’s Office of a change in location. Investigators said Pierce later returned to the residence and reported that he was living there again.

According to court documents, Pierce was then reminded that he had 72 hours to report a new location, and he allegedly stated that he understood the requirement.

Authorities later checked the Department of Justice National Registry and Illinois Sex Offender Registry, both of which continued to list Pierce at the Portage residence.

Lodged in the Porter County Jail on September 3, 2026.
