On June 8, 2026, at approximately 11:35 p.m., officers with the Gary Police Department responded to Perros Brothers Gyros, located at 3165 Richard Gordon Hatcher Boulevard in Gary, regarding a report of a male gunshot victim.

Upon arrival, officers located an adult male suffering from an apparent gunshot wound in the parking lot of the business. Gary Fire Department medics rendered aid at the scene before transporting the victim to Methodist Northlake Hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased.

At approximately 11:45 p.m., the Gary Police Department received a second call from Methodist Northlake Hospital regarding an additional male gunshot victim who arrived at the hospital from the same location. The second victim was subsequently transported to the University of Chicago Medical Center for further treatment.

At this time, the identities of both victims are being withheld pending notification of family members. The circumstances surrounding the shooting remain under investigation.
