Dollar General Robbed In Hammond Friday
A Dollar General located at 2619 169th St was robbed Friday around 7:15pm. Police could be seen using a K9 tracking a possible scent near the railroad tracks along with multiple Detectives inside the business investigating. We will have a full update as soon as Hammond Police complete the initial investigation and release a statement.
UPDATE –
On January 10th, at approximately 7:10 p.m., Hammond police responded to the Dollar General in the 2600 block of 169th St. in reference to a robbery, Lt. Steve Kellogg of the Hammond Police said. Witnesses stated that a black male with dreadlocks, in his early 20’s, entered the business and displayed a knife. He demanded money and fled the store in an unknown direction.

I know. It took a lot of planning and effort into robbing the store. If they used that brain power for good, they could get a lot more money than a m iui early amount that they get from a mostly cashless store.
That Dollar General is very easy access!
As soon as you enter the register is at your immediate right. In then out.
Dollar General should be forced to move those registers farther away from the entrance. Many people I have spoke with have stopped shopping there, even though they carry items that Vantils doesn’t, I’ve quit going to that location. Sad!
