Merrillville Police File Charges In Shooting
On 8/16/2020 the Merrillville Police Department responded to the 7000 block of Harrison Street for the reports of shots fired. Two subjects including a juvenile were wounded and another subject was severely battered as a result of this incident.
The Merrillville Detective Bureau completed a thorough investigation and presented the case to the Lake County Prosecutor’s Office. On 8/27/2020 the Lake County Prosecutor’s accepted charges against Edmond T. Campbell and Lorenzo D. Wilson. Campbell received the following charges: Aggravated Battery – Level 3 Felony and Battery Resulting in Serious Bodily Injury – Level 5 Felony. Wilson was charged with the following charges:
Attempted Murder – Level 1 Felony
Aggravated Battery – Level 3 Felony
Battery by Means of a Deadly Weapon – Level 5 Felony
Battery Resulting in Serious Bodily Injury – Level 5 Felony
Criminal Recklessness – Level 6 Felony
Neither subject is in custody at this time.
