NIISSA / District 1 EOC Delivers PPE To Hospitals

NIISSA (Northwest Indiana Information Sharing Security Alliance) and District 1 EOC delivered essential PPE to area hospitals who have been dealing with a shortage of protective equipment at area hospitals. Many frontline workers have been fighting an overwhelming battle at area hospitals dealing with a shortage of protective masks, gloves, face shields.

Tuesday the Emergency Operations Center staff delivered donated PPE to 14 of 16 hospitals in District 1, Lori Postma District 1 Healthcare Coalition Information Officer told RNS. The donated items were met with grateful hands at all 14 hospitals. Hospitals, Healthcare & 1st Responders are critically low on personal protective equipment, Postma stated.

“The donations have been a Godsend for some of these hospitals that are running out as we all eagerly await state and federal supplies,” Postma said. We are now having requests for homemade masks. Postma said they are still on the search for this much needed personal protective equipment and willing to pick up supplies.

If you’re donating resources and/or personel protective equipment (PPE), the number to the logistic team is (219)-576-2786 or email at district1covidinfo@gmail.com
