Porter County Has First Confirmed COVID-19 Case

A family of three living within close quarters has one positive test result and potentially two additional positive cases pending, according to a release from Porter County Government Officials. Both of individuals in isolation are being contacted twice a day by staff at the Porter County Health Department to closely monitor their conditions for any deterioration.

The Porter County Health Department has reported a second positive COVID-19 case within Porter County being reported an hour after the first case. This case is unrelated to earlier. The individual is self-isolating at home in good condition and is being monitored twice a day by staff at the Porter County Health Department to closely monitor their condition for any deterioration.

The Porter County Health Department is working closely with state officials to ensure that contacts of this individual are identified and monitored and that all infection control protocols are being followed. Due to privacy laws, no additional information about the individual will be released.

The Health Department anticipates that additional positive cases will arise in Porter County in the coming days.

Lake County went up to 17 cases Tuesday confirmed with many more tests pending. These numbers however are not accurate to the amount infected due to a lot of individuals not being tested because not meeting criteria. They are just asked to self quarantine.
