Officer Involved Shooting In Lynwood Being Handled By ISP

Illinois State Police (ISP) Public Integrity Task Force (PITF) Zone 1 was requested by the Lynwood Police Department to investigate a non-fatal officer-involved shooting. 

The incident occurred on May 2, 2021, at approximately 6:08 p.m. in the 2300 block of Glenwood-Dyer Rd., Lynwood, IL. Preliminary information indicates one person was struck by gunfire (non-law enforcement) and was transported to a local area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. 

This is an active and ongoing investigation, and no additional information will be released at this time, police said. Anyone with information regarding this investigation is asked to contact ISP Zone 1 Investigations at (847) 294-4400. Callers can remain anonymous.
