Breaking – One Shot In Gary Leads To Chase To Chicago
Around 10:43am Wednesday Gary Police & Fire were called to the 4700 block of Adams in reference to a gun shot victim. A 22 year old male from Illinois was found with apparent gun shot wounds and transported. On arrival they located a vehicle that has a shot window where the crime occurred, according to radio traffic. Shortly after police learned a car was just stolen in the area. Gary Police located that vehicle headed NB to the expressway where a police pursuit began to Westbound 80/94. Multiple agencies joined in the pursuit that went up the Bishop Ford to 59th & Princeton in Chicago where the suspect bailed on foot from officers.
A perimeter is now set up in the area as police continue to search for the suspect. During the pursuit the suspect threw a gun out the vehicle on the merge of 80/94 to the Bishop Ford. The gun was located by officers and taken into evidence along with the stolen vehicle.
The gun shot victim has succumbed to his injury, police have said. We will continue to provide updates on this breaking incident as this develops.
UPDATE – As of 1pm Gary & Lake County Sheriff Officers have arrested the suspect in Chicago
