Highland Man Arrested In Lowell Shooting

At about 12:12 AM on Sunday (01/03/21), Lake County Sheriff’s Department officers responded to a 911 call for an altercation at a home in the 17900 block of Lincoln Court in unincorporated Lowell, Indiana, according to Lake County Sheriff Spokeswoman Pam Jones.

Upon arrival at the scene, officers discovered a male unresponsive with a gunshot wound. He was declared deceased shortly after.
The Lake County Coroner has identified the male as Nicohlas Lile, 42, of Lowell.

A 40-year-old Highland man, who is an officer with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs and was off-duty at the time, has been arrested and is being held pending charges in the case. Charges listed on The Lake County Sheriff site are – Homicide, but those have not been approved.
