Lansing Police Investigate Homicide Overnight
On May 25, 2021 at approximately 1:08 a.m., the Lansing Police Department responded to 2120 177th Street for a report of multiple shots fired, according to Lt. Al Phillips of The Lansing Police.
Upon arrival, officers located one subject with multiple gunshot wounds inside an apartment. The victim was a 24-year-old African American male who was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The South Suburban Major Crimes Task Force and the Illinois State Police Crime Scene Investigators are assisting the Lansing Police Department with the investigation. This does not appear to be a random event, Phillips stated.
