Lynwood Police K9 In Need Of Emergency Surgery, Fundraiser Setup

Lynwood Police K9 is an immediate need of spinal surgery after an accident Friday while on break playing catch with his handler, according to Staci Goveia owner of Protecting K9 Hero’s. While chasing the ball Dante subsequently crashed into a metal object leaving him almost lifeless. The vet stated he has damage to his #2 & #3 vertebrae and they are pressing on his spinal cord. This is requiring immediate surgery with a neurologist.

Unfortunately the Police Department does not have the funding for this nor is this something budgeted for Protecting K9 Hero’s said in a GoFundMe message set up. The fundraiser has already raised more than $10,000. The surgery is expected to be over $10,000 but that is the initial target mark in the fundraiser.  The exact cost is not known yet.
