Man Shot Taking Out Garbage Friday in Merrillville
On Friday, January 14, 2022 at approximately 8:19 PM, Merrillville Police Officers were dispatched to the 5600 Block of Hayes Street in reference to a male gunshot victim, according to Assistant Chief Kosta Nuses.
Upon officers’ arrival it was determined that a male subject had been shot twice while taking garbage out, Nuses said. The injured victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment. His current condition was not available.
