Schererville Police Investigating Attempted Theft From ATM

Schererville Police are investigating an attempted theft from an ATM from Chase Bank located at 1801 Kennedy Avenue, that occurred on Wednesday, October 7 around 2:48am, according to Deputy Chief Jeff Cook of The Schererville Police.

A witness traveling  eastbound on US 30 observed a dark colored SUV pull up near a drive thru ATM, the witness observed two males exit the vehicle and walk toward the ATM, with one of the men carrying a chain, Cook told RNS.  The witness contacted police and stated the suspects left in the SUV westbound on US Hwy 30.  Preliminary investigation shows that the ATM was significantly damaged, but no money was lost from the machine.  Suspects are described as both approximately 5’09” to 5’10” with one possibly having a shaved or bald head.
