15 Year Old Shot Thursday Morning, Suspect In Custody
On December 10, 2020 approximately 9:15 AM Gary Police officers responded to the 5800 block of West 36th Avenue for reports of a gunshot victim, according to Lt. Dawn Westerfield of The Gary Police.
Upon arrival officers discovered a 15-year-old male from Gary with a gunshot wound to the leg. The victim was transported by ambulance for treatment, and is in stable condition, Westerfield said.
The suspect a 40-year-old male white from Whiting was located in a nearby wooded area and extracted without further incident. The suspect, a known party to the juvenile, remains in custody as the investigation is ongoing.
