Highland Man Stabs Man At Beauty Supply Store

Tuesday East Chicago Police responded to a stabbing at M&M Beauty Supply located at 3712 Main Street, according to Deputy Chief Jose Rivera.

Lt. L. Arcuri quickly arrived on scene and made contact with the suspect who was still armed with a knife, police said in a release Wednesday. The suspect immediately dropped the knife upon seeing officers and was taken into custody without resistance. The suspect was identified as 35 year old Ali Adnan Mousavi of Highland, Indiana.

The victim a 35 year old male employee of M&M Beauty Supply suffered a large laceration across the right side of his face. He was transported to the University of Chicago Hospital in serious but stable condition.

Detective C. Acevedo was assigned the case and charged the suspect with Aggravated Battery (Level 3 Felony), Battery by Means of a Deadly Weapon (Level 5 Felony) and Battery Resulting in Serious Bodily Injury (Level 5 Felony). The suspect is currently in custody at the East Chicago Police Department Jail and will be transported to the Lake County Sheriff Jail.
