The vehicle immediately took off from officers leading police on a pursuit down Taft. The fleeing vehicle with Illinois plates crashed into a Town of Merrillville plow truck at 57th & Cleveland, Nuses stated. There was no reported injuries at the crash. One of the occupants was taken into custody at the crash site and the other fled on foot. He was later apprehended nearby, Nuses said.

A gun was recovered from the vehicle that fled and both subjects were taken into custody and lodged in The Lake County Jail. Charges are pending and names will be released at a later time.
