Models Shift South For Biggest Snow Event Of The Year

Models are all trending more south for a major winter storm to hit the Region starting Tuesday morning and ending Wednesday evening. Models are showing 7-12 inches of snow depending on your exact location. This has the possibility of being the biggest winter storm we have seen this season.

Snow is forecasted to start Tuesday morning around 6am and stop Wednesday around 6pm. Some areas could see upwards of 12 inches when all is said and done in The Region. We expect the Hammond area to see around 5-7 inches as of the latest thinking this morning. Somewhere in the area will see close to a foot depending on the exact setup of the heaviest bands. As of now that seems to be pointed across the Chicago Metro. Expect snowfall rates to be 1+ inch an hour.
