Smile Bags Donated To Highland Police

On Monday February 17th, Addison Brown came by to visit the Highland Police Department and she made a donation of 40 “Smile Bags” for our officers to use out in the field, Commander John Banasiak of the Highland Police said Monday.  Her mission is to help emergency personnel bring smiles and joy to children during a traumatic event. Smile Bags offer toys, books, tissues and other items to help children cope at difficult times.

Addison is 11 years old and lives in Lowell, Indiana and she is a 6th grade student at Lowell Middle School.  Addison has a goal of having every police officer in the United States to have a Smile Bag for their interactions with children during traumatic events.

If you are interested in making a donation to Addison’s Smile Bags project, you can visit her Facebook page @ Milesofmanysmiles or you can email her at Milesofmanysmiles@yahoo.com.   You may also send monetary donations to:  Miles of Many Smiles, P.O. Box 72, Lowell, IN  46356.

Highland Police would like to say THANK YOU to Addison for her generosity and for thinking of others! Banasiak said she should be very proud of this program that she started!
