Unlicensed Teen Slams Stolen Car Into Tree In Porter

Sunday morning around 7:50 AM Porter Police & Fire responded to a crash with a possible vehicle fire near the curve of Pearson Rd & Carlson Corners, according to Porter Police.

On arrival officers located a smashed a vehicle into a tree with radiator vapor leaking but no fire. The vehicle was occupied with three teens with injuries. One of the teens was unconscious and the other two were going in & out of conscious police said. Two teens were from Lake County and the driver from Chicago.

Police learned during the investigation that the 17 year old driver did not have license and that the car was reported stolen.

The driver was ultimately charged with Auto Theft and Never Having Obtained A Drivers License. He was transported to The Porter County Juvenile Center. The other two males were treated at Northwest Health and later released.
